Every year, on the last weekend of September, Millau becomes the French capital of ultra-endurance. The Millau 100 km race attracts thousands of runners and enthusiasts who come to take on an extraordinary sporting challenge in stunning surroundings.
Established in 1972, the Millau 100 km is the oldest 100 km road race in France. A true benchmark in the world of ultra-distance running, this legendary race has seen several generations of runners – from amateurs to seasoned athletes – come to push their limits over this iconic distance. Over the decades, the event has become one of the must-attend running events in France.
Today, the event appeals to a wide audience thanks to three race formats:
100 km: the flagship event reserved for long-distance enthusiasts.
Marathon (42 km): an iconic distance covering the first loop of the course.
23 km: a more accessible race allowing participants to experience the atmosphere of the 100 km without tackling the ultra-distance.
A spectacular journey through nature and heritage
The 100 km of Millau are not only appealing for their history. The route offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the Aveyron. After setting off from the centre of Millau, participants follow the roads that run alongside the Gorges du Tarn, passing through iconic villages such as Le Rozier, before continuing their adventure by passing twice under the majestic Millau Viaduct. Amidst valleys, limestone plateaus and spectacular panoramic views, every kilometre offers an exceptional setting that makes you forget, for a moment, the difficulty of the challenge.
