At the end of October, Nant becomes the stage for one of France's must-attend trail running events: the Hospitaliers Trail Festival. Established in 2009, this renowned event brings together thousands of runners and trail enthusiasts eager to take on a sporting challenge in the breathtaking landscapes of southern Aveyron. Technical trails, narrow single tracks, forests, limestone plateaus, picturesque villages, and spectacular panoramic views follow one another throughout the races, making this festival a true benchmark for lovers of authentic trail running.

The event offers several formats to suit all levels. Trail runners can choose between La Nantaise, an accessible race of around 14 km, the Trail Larzac-Dourbie of around 30 kilometres, or the legendary Trail des Hospitaliers, a race of around 75 km with nearly 4,000 metres of elevation gain, which starts before dawn in the streets of Nant. Trail runs are also organised for children, making the festival a truly sporting and friendly weekend for the whole family.

Beyond the competition itself, the Festival des Hospitaliers is renowned for its warm atmosphere, its intimate scale and its commitment to more responsible trail running. The friendly atmosphere is part of the festival’s DNA and plays a major part in its reputation amongst trail runners.
